TWELVE<\/strong> students from the School of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities at Lincoln University College embarked on an educational trip to the Museum of Illusions Kuala Lumpur, immersing themselves in the fascinating world of visual and cognitive illusions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trip, organized by the Department of Psychology, aimed to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, offering students a hands-on learning experience about human perception and cognition.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe visit featured a guided tour of the museum\u2019s interactive exhibits, where students explored optical illusions, mind tricks, and sensory challenges,\u201d said Lecturer Psychology, Alyani Nazirah Junaidi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These activities demonstrated key psychological concepts, such as how the brain processes visual information and interprets sensory stimuli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By engaging with the exhibits, students gained deeper insights into the complexities of perception and memory.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A highlight of the trip was the “Psychological Insights Discussion,” where students analyzed the science behind the illusions and connected them to their academic studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alyani said, group reflection sessions further enriched the experience, encouraging critical thinking and interdisciplinary dialogue among participants from diverse fields, including psychology, arts, and humanities.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To foster creativity and collaboration, students participated in a social media engagement activity, documenting their experiences and sharing them online. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative not only amplified the educational value of the trip but also promoted the university\u2019s commitment to innovative learning.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Head of the Department of Psychology, Dr Shahnaz Sheibani emphasized the trip\u2019s role in enhancing students\u2019 analytical skills. “This experience goes beyond textbooks\u2014it challenges students to question their perceptions and understand the mind\u2019s intricacies,” she said.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event also strengthened social bonds among participants through teamwork and peer learning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project director, Nurul Farhana Abdul Rahman, noted, “Seeing students collaborate and discuss ideas was a testament to the trip\u2019s success in fostering a vibrant academic community.”  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
