{"id":147,"date":"2025-08-27T07:02:24","date_gmt":"2025-08-27T07:02:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ssahkomuniti.lincoln.edu.my\/?p=147"},"modified":"2025-08-27T07:57:20","modified_gmt":"2025-08-27T07:57:20","slug":"luc-successfully-hosts-international-conference-on-asia-rising","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ssahkomuniti.lincoln.edu.my\/index.php\/2025\/08\/27\/luc-successfully-hosts-international-conference-on-asia-rising\/","title":{"rendered":"LUC Successfully Hosts International Conference on Asia Rising"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LINCOLN<\/strong> University College (LUC) successfully organise International Conference on Social Sciences (ICSS) 2025 on 20\u201321 August 2025 at the Cititel Mid Valley Hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The theme, \u201cAsia Rising: A Way Forward Towards a Sustainable Society,\u201d provide insightful discussions and meaningful exchanges among scholars, practitioners, and students from around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/ssahkomuniti.lincoln.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/FullSizeRender-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-160\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conference started with opening ceremony featuring the Malaysia National Anthem and the Lincoln University College song, followed by welcome addresses from Prof. Dr. Amiya Bhaumik, Founder and President of LUC, and Prof. Datuk Dr. Bibi Florina Abdullah, Pro-Chancellor.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A keynote speech by Prof. Dato\u2019 Dr. Sivamurugan Pandian then set the tone for the event, which also includes the launch of the Lincoln Komuniti website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"480\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 854 \/ 480;\" width=\"854\" controls src=\"https:\/\/ssahkomuniti.lincoln.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/WhatsApp-Video-2025-08-20-at-7.23.55-PM.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Day One (20 August) includes Plenary Session 1, focusing on New Media and Communication.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Presentations cover topics such as the role of social work in local knowledge indigenization, digital sustainability, fake news, AI in education, and the impact of social media on youth. Presenters join both physically and online, with moderators guiding each session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The afternoon sessions expand into themes like Social Work and Indigenization, Decolonizing Social Studies, and International Relations and Diplomacy.
